Reviews and Ratings
The hotel was a little tired and could do with a spruce up, but overall comfortable. The rooms were good size, clean, with a comfy bed, though the heating struggled to keep the room warm and the bathroom suite was outdated. The shower fresh dispenser was empty with no replacements. The service was really friendly and helpful, but the location required weaving through a housing estate due to road closures. Dining was a mix of experiences, from seriously delayed service to very good welcoming. The hotel had a typical British Inn atmosphere, a bit dirty but with a pub next door.
The hotel is in a lovely area to wander around, mostly quiet, but facing the car park and the main entrance, which can get noisy at times. The rooms were comfortable for a good night's rest, although there were some maintenance issues like bits of the headboard falling off. The area could be a bit noisy due to other guests being loud inside their rooms at late hours.
The hotel had a large family room at a reduced rate, spacious and bright, with a clean bathroom, but the service was a bit sarcastic during booking. The location was excellent for visiting nearby attractions, although the area felt strange due to new developments. Dining was delicious and good value, with friendly staff, but there were some issues with timing. On the bright side, the hotel facilities were top-notch.
